1- In the Copyleaks Dashboard, first, click on “Integration”, search for the Canvas Plagiarism Platform that you want to add an AI Assessment overview tool for, and finally, click on Connect AI Assessment Overview button
2- Enter a name of your choice for your new platform integration in the Integration Name field, then click “Dynamic Integration”:
3- You should be presented with a Registration URL, Key, and Secret. You will need to use these in the upcoming steps, so keep this page open.
3- Next, in another tab go to Canvas and login with your admin account. Leave the Copyleaks page open.
4- After you've logged into Canvas, click on the Admin link from the left side menu:
5- A side menu will open. Click on your account (in this example, our account is named “Copyleaks”):
6- A new window will appear. Click on the Developer Keys button on the left side of the page:
7- Next, click on the Developer Key button on the right side of the screen:
8- A dropdown menu will open up. From the menu, choose LTI Registration:
9 - Return to the Copyleaks page you left open, copy the Registration URL, and paste it into the Dynamic Registration URL field. And then click on the Continue button.
10- A page will appear where you need to fill in some integration information to complete the registration process. Return to the Copyleaks page you left open, then copy and paste the Key & Secret (1) into the Integration Information page's Key & Secret fields. Finally, click the Register button (3) to complete the registration.
11- On the next page, make sure all Permissions (1) are selected, and under User data shared with this tool (2), All user data is selected, and finally click Enable & Close (3)
12- Next, you will be redirected back to the Canvas page, Copy the Client Id number like the one shown below. Then click Settings from the left:
Note, if you only want to integrate the Tool at the course level, you'll need to go to the course where you would like to install the Tool and then click Settings from the left.
13- Next, click on the Apps tab:
14- Click on the View App Configurations button:
15- Click on the +App button:
16- In the form that opens up, click on the Configuration Type dropdown menu:
17- From the Configuration Type dropdown menu choose By Client Id:
18- In the Client ID input field, paste in the client id you copied
19- Click the Submit button:
20- Next, click the Install button:
21- Next, to use the Copyleaks tool in a course, complete the following: First, click on the Courses button from the side menu:
22- Choose the desired course you want to add the Copyleaks tool to:
23- Click on the +Module button on the right side of the screen:
24- In the Module Name input field enter a name of your choice:
25- Click on the Add Module button:
26- Click on the + button:
27- From the Add dropdown menu choose External Tool:
28- Click on the Copyleaks Tool:
29- The tool will load in a window, after it has completed loading it will close automatically:
30- If done correctly, the URL and Page Name input fields will be filled:
31- Click on the Add Item button:
32- The tool should now be added to your course. Click on the tool to open it:
33- Finally, the tool will open up in a new window and be ready to use!
