To add a new LTI 1.3 integration to Edsby, follow these steps:
Create new Integration setup:
First, we need to setup a new integration in the Dashboard:
- In the Dashboard click on “New integration”:
- Click the integration setup for “Edsby”:
- Enter a name of your choice for your new platform integration in the “Integration Name”
- After you finish entering the name of your new platform integration, click ”Next” button:

Next, go to Edsby and login as Administrator (Leave Copyleaks Dashboard tab open). In the following steps we will configure one integration out of two - One for each Copyleaks tool (Teacher Scan tool, Assignment tool)

In the top left corner, click on the district you want to configure the copyleaks tools for:
- In the top right corner, click on the "Manage" button:
- In the “LTI Tool Providers” section, click on the “+” button:
- A form will come up. First fill up the “Name” input field with a name of your choice:
- In the drop down menu for “Configuration Type” Choose “LTI 1.3 Tool”:
- In the drop down menu for “Include personally identifiable information (PII)” Choose “Exclude”:
- In the drop down menu for “Allowed Presentation Types” Choose “IFrame”:
- In the bottom of the form, under “Cryptography”, select “The tool supplies a public JWKS URL (most recommended)”:

Now go back to the Copyleaks Dashboard tab you left open from previous steps (Leave Edsby LTI1.3 tool setup tab open)
- From Copyleaks Dashboard, copy and paste the following links into the correct input fields as shown below:
- Click on the “Next” button in Copyleaks Dashboard:
- Next, From Edsby LTI tool setup form copy and paste the following links into the right input fields in Copyleaks Dashboard as shown below:
- In the “Deep Linking URL” input field, enter the url of the tool:
- https://lti.copyleaks.com/api/lti/1.3/teacher-tool/add - For “Teacher scan” tool.
- https://lti.copyleaks.com/api/lti/1.3/assignment/add - For “Assignment” tool.
- In the drop down menu for “Gradebook Access” Choose:
- “Assessment Management” - For “Assignment” tool.
- “No Access” - For “Teacher scan” tool.
- In Edsby LTI Tool setup form, click on the “Save” button in the bottom right corner:
- In Copyleaks Dashboard, click on “Finish” button and wait for the process to finish:

Next, In order to use the LTI tool you configured in Edsby, navigate to whatever class you would like to use the tool in.
- First, navigate to your schools under the district:
- Click on the classes number of the school you want to use the tool in:
- Choose any class you would like to use the tool in (in this example we chose “SCI11-14”):
- Click on the class “Content” button:
- Click on the “Edit” button in the top left corner:
- Click on the “+” button:
- From the list that opens up choose “LTI Link”:
- In the drop down for “Select LTI Tool” choose the tool you configured (will be the name you chose in step 2.4):
- After selecting the tool, click on the “Launch” button:
- The tool should load up in a new tab:
- First, navigate to your schools under the district:
Up until this point, we configured Edsby with one Copyleaks tool (Assignment tool).
To configure Copyleaks “Teacher scan” tool you need to follow the same steps but changes need to be made in specific steps. In the following section, we will go through the steps that needed to be modified. Other than the step numbers shown here, all the other setup steps remain the same:

- In step number 3.4 the link that should be entered the “Deep Linking URL” input field is: https://lti.copyleaks.com/api/lti/1.3/teacher-tool/add
- In step number 3.5 the value that should be chosen for the “Gradebook Access” is “No Access”
To make the tool visible for students as well click on the toggle button:
