The admin settings, which act as the default settings for your institution, are set when setting up the integration with your LMS. They can also be adjusted after the completion of the integration setup by going to lti.copyleaks.com while logged in with the admin account and clicking Default Scan Settings beneath the framework you've set up.
First, we recommend enabling the Identify student information in the results setting. In the case that a student copies from another student at your institution, whether on purpose or inadvertently, instructors and admins will be able to see identifying information about the student who was copied from in the results of the report.
Next, we strongly recommend enabling and locking the Disable database view for students setting. In the case that students are given access to their reports and they copy another student at the institution, again, either on purpose or inadvertently, this setting will prevent them from seeing the title of the document. The title could contain identifying information of the other student. Instructors and admins are given the ability to see the identifying student information by the previous setting being enabled.
The lock icon allows you to set settings for your school. Use of any of these settings is up to your discretion.
Note, locking the setting will prevent instructors from changing the setting.
You can also change your analytics settings here. You can allow all faculty to view analytics about students, courses and assignments. Display and Collect Analytics is unchecked, this data will not be collected. If you check Block Access to individual student analytics, the admins and faculty DO NOT have access to individual student analytics.
If you would like text excluded from all scans within your institutions, you can upload them under Exclude Template. When used, if a student submits a file that contains what is included in the template, the text will be ignored automatically and not count towards the similarity percentage.
If your institution has not purchased the Cross Language Detection add-on we recommend locking the feature without any languages selected in order to avoid confusion.
In the Online Sources section, we recommend the configuration shown in the screenshot below.
Finally, if you are using the Copyleaks Internal Database please ensure your settings appear the same as those shown in the screenshot below.
