The percentage of similarity detected and displayed at the top of the plagiarism report is also known as the aggregate score.
This aggregate score represents the percentage of words from the original text that have been flagged identical, minor changed, or paraphrased to text from at least one source.
You can also find individual similarity percentages for each result, representing the percentage of the original text found in a result. Results are ordered by their similarity percentage.
Please note, if you have omitted parts of the submitted text from a scan, like quotes or citations, they will be ignored when calculating the aggregate score. For example, let's say you have 110 words in your submitted text. When the scan returns, 50 of those 110 words are a match for similarity, and 10 words are omitted. Your aggregate score will be 50% because 10 words are omitted, bringing down the word count to 100, and 50 of those 100 remaining words are a match.
