Customizing your Scan
Through the Scan Settings, you can customize the elements you want to be included by either enabling or disabling the Omit filters.
The elements of text you can omit are References, Quotes, Citations, Titles, and Table of Contents.
References, also commonly referred to as the Bibliography, are defined as the content which has been formatted properly following one of the style guides (MLA, APA, etc.) and is most frequently found at the end of the document. Example: Franzen, Jonathan. The Corrections. Farrar, Straus, and Giroux, 2001.
- Quotes are defined as any text found within a closed set of quotation marks (either double or single).
- Citations are defined as the content which has been formatted properly as a citation following one of the style guides (MLA, APA, etc.) and is found within a body of text. Example: (Davis 221)
- Titles are defined as the content which has been formatted properly as a title following one of the style guides (MLA, APA, etc.).
- Table of Contents is defined again as the content which has been formatted properly as a Table of Contents following one of the style guides (MLA, APA, etc.).
Omitted words will be listed under Matched Text in it's in own category.
Within the report, omitted words will be highlighted in gray.
