1. If you have active “Canvas Plagiarism Framework” integration that has not been connected to “Canvas API Integration” then go through the Canvas API Integration setup guide first. If Canvas API integration has not been set yet you will see “NOT ACTIVE” status otherwise you will see “ACTIVE” status.
2. Log in to Canvas and click on Admin on the left side. A side view will open. Click on your account (in this example our account is called Copyleaks)
3. Navigate to Developer Keys and add a new Developer Key
4. A drop down menu will appear, choose LTI Key
5. A form will appear, fill the Key Name field in with a name of your choice, in our example we called the key the Copyleaks AI Assessment Overview.
6. In Copyleaks, click on the Connect AI Assessment Overview. You will then be navigated to a set up page
7. The first step of the set up process will happen automatically. Wait for the first step to finish.
8. Back in Canvas, click on Method. In the drop down menu, choose the Manual Entry Option
9. Add a Title and Description of your choice
10. From the JWK Method drop down menu, select Public JWK URL
11. Go back to the Copyleaks tab, Copy the links seen here into the proper fields
12. In the Target URL input field, enter https://lti.copyleaks.com/api/lti/1.3/ai-assessment-overview/add
13. Expand the LTI Advantage Settings and select all of the options below
14. Expand the Additional Settings option, a form will appear. At a bottom of these settings change Privacy Level to Public
Next, from Placements choose Link Selection in the drop down menu. Clear out the others by clicking the X icon
15. Expand, Link Selection by Clicking it
16. A form will appear. In the Target Link URL input field enter https://lti.copyleaks.com/api/lti/1.3/ai-assessment-overview/add
Once added, click “LtiDeepLinkingRequest” button:
17. Click the Save button at the bottom right of the screen
18. Once saved, you will be navigated back to the Developer Keys screen. Here we will enable the LTI key we just configured by clicking the State toggle
19. You will click "Switch to ON"
20. Then select Next in the Copyleaks Dashboard
21. Go back to Canvas and copy the “Client Id” as shown here and paste it along with the following urls in Copyleaks setup page”

Click finish in the Copyleaks Set up page and wait for the set up process to finish:
22. Copyleaks will then Navigate you to the integrations page. You will now see Assessment Tool Connected in Green
23. Back in Canvas, copy on the Client ID number shown here, click on the Settings button in the side nav
24. Click on the Apps tab
click on View App Configurations
25. Click on +App
26. In the form that appears, click on Configuration Type and choose By Client ID
Here paste in the Client ID you copied from Step 22, then press Submit.
Click Install
27. You will need to add the AI Assessment Overview to a Course
Click courses and choose a desired course
Then press + Module
Enter the Module a name of your choice and add the New Module
28. Once the Module is created, click the + button
29. From the Add drop down menu, Choose External Tool
30. The Copyleaks Assessment Overview should be there with the name you chose in step 5
31. The tool will load automatically, let the loading finish and the window will close automatically.
When done correctly, the URL and Page Name input fields will be filled in automatically as seen below
Then click Add Item
32. Then click on the icon below
From the drop down menu, choose "Publish Module and All Items"
33. You can now click on the tool link and utilize the feature. The tool will appear as seen below
AI Assessment Overview limitations in Canvas:
- Assignments that have been created before the integration with the API & not been opened and saved again by the instructor, will be excluded from the AI assessment overview tool - The instructor or the student will not see those assignments (and the submission that were made in those assignments) in the AI Assessment Overview tool.
- We do not support Rubric assignments or Peer Reviews.
- The AI Assessment Overview tool does not support moving students from one group to another after students have submitted their work.
- Anonymous Grading will only be supported in the View Only option (student info will be hidden).
